ESOL tutors volunteer to assist learners to improve their English to gain employment or admission to college and / make social contact in the community.
Duties:
Helping learners to familiarise themselves with reading, writing, listening and speaking English language.
Skills:
Good spoken and written English skills, knowledge of English grammar, willingness to provide regular, reliable but adaptable tutoring sessions, access to reliable communications technology (laptop / tablet / phone; wifi), interest in and empathy with our learners; most of whom are asylum seekers, refugees or migrants.
Time:
Between 1-2 hours per week depending on demand.
